Colorado born and Pony Club raised, Vicki moved to the East Coast in the late 1990s and drew attention from Captain Mark Phillips and the USET Olympic Team Selectors with her competitive finishes against some of the top riders in the US. Most notably, she proved herself with a top finish at the MBNA Foxhall Cup CCI*** aboard Reggae Mon and earned a coveted spot on the short list for the 2001 Burghley Pedigree Chum CCI**** in England. She was selected for the USET Developing Rider Program for the third time on her home bred mare Fine China and was a hopeful for the 2004 Olympics.

To have achieved such a high level and had such wonderful success on two horses that I started under saddle is truly a dream come true.

Vicki is currently competing at events in Area IX and nationwide aboard several horses. In 2017 she achieved her ICP Level III (Intermediate/CCI**** USEA certification and has her level IV pending.

Teaching philosophy

Vicki is known as a friendly, positive teacher and trainer. Whether it’s bravely galloping cross country, developing confidence and grace in dressage, meeting that perfect spot in show jumping, or simply summoning up the courage to put your foot in the stirrup, Vicki has the knowledge and skill to help all levels of riders– from the beginner to advanced–  develop confidence and improve their performance.

I believe in positive reinforcement for both horse and rider and utilizing sports psychology as well as physical development to produce a team that believes in themselves! What sets Vicki apart is that she is also a skilled Orthopedic Physical Therapist.

I combine my horse training and riding instruction with my knowledge of human anatomy and movement.  Physical ailments in the rider can cause multiple issues in the horse’s performance. Becoming a Physical Therapist has given me a huge toolbox for helping riders on and off the horse in so many ways.
